  • Little Lloyd | Senior Portrait

Wow, it's been a while, but today was a good day. I had the pleasure of photographing a great guy. People call him Little Lloyd, but the dude is HUGE! OK, not a big as his dad, Big Lloyd, but big for someone to call you little. Congrats to Lloyd for graduating High School and moving on to College! I'm sure he's going to do great, since he's got the sweetest family watching his back. Good Luck at Whittier, Little Lloyd!!

  • Go Bears!!

I always make it a point to try to photograph something or someone every week. A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of photographing my niece and her roomies. Now I'm not bias or anything, but the girls are pretty darn cute. Those boys on the UC Campus, better watch out. Here comes a future lawyer, doctor and immunologist... You go girls!!

  • Went on a little trip to the Academy of Science in San Francisco. I remembered when I went there the first time as a little person. Now that I'm all grown up, I love it as much as I did then. As you can see by this shot, even as you get older, you never lose the love for this place. Do you remember a favorite place when you were young?

  • Kristen and Matt

I was lucky enough to assist Tauran Woo on this lovely wedding in San Francisco. Kristen and Matt are a sweet couple and I wish them all the best. Thanks again to Tdaddie for giving me the opportunity to shoot with him!

  • Mr. Wong

Funny, all day I was thinking it was time to start blogging again. It's been a while. The holidays really do take a lot out of me. I thought I would be blogging about how excited I am about my first wedding of the year, happening at the end of the month or how happy I was to see my niece baptized this Christmas, or how last year was so amazing and I met the most inspiring photography mentor and made some of the greatest trips....but then I got a call. My best friend called and told me her father had passed away that morning. His name is Mr. Wong. I've known him for almost half my life. If you saw him, you might think of Kungfu Panda. He had a crewcut. He was a tough guy with a jovial laugh. When we were young, my friend never seemed to understand how smart her dad was or how he loved her. He taught me what a 1039 Exchange was. He knew stocks. He really understood real estate. Who whould buy acreage in a place called Geyserville back in the day. Now its called the "wine capital of Sonoma County". The guy was "genius".

I knew deep down she loved the guy, but she would never be at peace with him. He was "old" Chinese. You know, boys get everything, girls get nothing. That's not too fair, but that's how it was. They would argue constantly. She would rarely go home for family visits. Then time passed. She got married. She moved across the country. She had a baby. He grew older. She moved back. She had cancer. He had parkinsons. She beat her cancer. He couldn't see very well because of cataract. She started to visit him more. His health started to deteriorate. He loved seeing his grandkids. And as time passed, she soon realized how smart he was and how she really did love him. I hope now she knows how much he loved her too.

In this new year, with the wars going on and the terrible economic turmoils, we must remember all the good that has occured in our lives. Remember all the people we love. Remember all the people that have touch our lives.

  • Happy Holidays

The year just creeps up on one, so now it's picture time again for my kids. Yes, I know I torture them throughout the year, but now I've got to get them to take a picture together. It's a grandparent necessity. Plus we have to have that darn pic for a holiday card. So like every year, we go out the Saturday after Thanksgiving and get a tree. Gotta make that tree worth it, since they cost so gosh darn much. (I'm really thinking hard about those fake ones with the lights already on them) Funny how it seems so much easier taking other people's kids portraits. Here are my little monsters....cheers to the start of a great holiday season!!

Kirby is all grown. Well actually, he's almost grown. He's only 8 months old, but he's really big now.

  • Family Time

It's family portrait time! Seems people are noticing me and I'm starting to book up with family portraits. I actually love doing them. They're so much fun. What's not to like? Kids, loving parents, crazy families...it's a hoot!!

Here's a fun bunch I was lucky to photograph a couple weeks ago. More families to come...and hopefully weddings are on the horizon!
